God makes it quite clear in his word that he has only one answer to every human need-his Son Jesus Christ.
In all his dealings he works by taking us out the way and substituting Jesus in our place. He dies so we could be forgiven.
Sin entered because of our disobedience, which created a separation from God, God could no longer have fellowship with man, when ever this occurs the thing that immediately follows is guilt.
Sin causes a barrier from God, this cause an awakened conscience, that say’s I have sinned (Luke 15-18) which gives us a sense of guilt giving ground for accusation in our hearts, the accuser of the brethren (the devil) to come in and accuse us, make us feel guilty and shameful, accusing us and saying you have sinned. (Rev 12-10)
Our sins had to be dealt with, this was affected by the blood of Jesus dying on the cross for us, he brought us back and payed a price for us to have relationship back to God, as we accept Jesus as our Savior and the sacrifice of our sins, we are forgiven.
We must understand the blood of Jesus and the affect it has had upon our lives as forgiveness of our sins, Our guilt has been dealt with and our guilty conscience because of the blood of Christ
GOD IS PLEASED WITH US BECAUSE OF THE SHEDDING OF THE BLOOD OF HIS SON JESUS, WE DON’T NEED TO HAVE A GUILTY CONSCIENCE , BECAUSE WE ARE FORGIVEN, LIVE FREE !
The Blood is the atonement for our sin it please God when he looks at the blood of his Son, which is the forgiveness of our sins. To understand the value of the blood, we must first understand God’s valuation of it and it’s value for us. See Leviticus 16 for more understanding of God evaluation of the blood in the old testament, and Hebrews 9 for what Jesus did.
7 But into the second [division of the tabernacle] none but the high priest goes, and he only once a year, and never without taking a sacrifice of blood with him, which he offers for himself and for the errors and sins of ignorance and thoughtlessness which the people have committed.
8 By this the Holy Spirit points out that the way into the [true Holy of] Holies is not yet thrown open as long as the former [the outer portion of the] tabernacle remains a recognized institution and is still standing,
9 Seeing that that first [outer portion of the] tabernacle was a parable (a visible symbol or type or picture of the present age). In it gifts and sacrifices are offered, and yet are incapable of perfecting the conscience or of cleansing and renewing the inner man of the worshiper.
10 For [the ceremonies] deal only with clean and unclean meats and drinks and different washings, [mere] external rules and regulations for the body imposed to tide the worshipers over until the time of setting things straight [of reformation, of the complete new order when Christ, the Messiah, shall establish the reality of what these things foreshadow—a better covenant].
11 But [that appointed time came] when Christ (the Messiah) appeared as a High Priest of the better things that have come and are to come. [Then] through the greater and more perfect tabernacle not made with [human] hands, that is, not a part of this material creation,
12 He went once for all into the [Holy of] Holies [of heaven], not by virtue of the blood of goats and calves [by which to make reconciliation between God and man], but His own blood, having found andsecured a complete redemption (an everlasting release for us).
13 For if [the mere] sprinkling of unholy and defiled persons with blood of goats and bulls and with the ashes of a burnt heifer is sufficient for the purification of the body,
14 How much more surely shall the blood of Christ, Who [b]by virtue of [His] eternal Spirit [His own preexistent [c]divine personality] has offered Himself as an unblemished sacrifice to God, purify our consciences from dead works and lifeless observances to serve the [ever] living God?
15 [Christ, the Messiah] is therefore the Negotiator and Mediator of an [entirely] new agreement (testament, covenant), so that those who are called and offered it may receive the fulfillment of the promised everlasting inheritance—since a death has taken place which rescues and delivers andredeems them from the transgressions committed under the [old] first agreement.
In God’s holiness and righteouness, which demands a sinless life shold be given for man, There is life in the blood, the blood poured out for us and our sins. God requires this.
As unbelievers we may be untroubled by our conscience until the word of God begins to arouse us, we are dead spiritually and our conscience is dead and we no good to God, but when believed our awakened conscience became acutely sensitive, this can be a problem to us.
The sense of sin and guilt can become so great, terrible it can cripple us, that’s why we must understand the power of the forgiveness in the blood.
Often our sin can appear larger than the blood of Jesus and it’s forgiveness.
It not about us feeling it, we are too often trying to sense it feeling right with God, it’s about knowing it, believing it, and accepting it that God is pleased with us because of the blood of his has payed the penalty of our sin, guilt, and shame.
WE ARE FORGIVEN, the blood has satisfied God, it must satisfy us too, we have our hearts sprinkles for an evil conscience (Hebrews 10-22)
The heart God say’s is desperately sick, he had to do something else he had to give us a new one at salvation.
25 Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and you shall be clean from all your uncleanness; and from all your idols will I cleanse you.
26 A new heart will I give you and a new spirit will I put within you, and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh.
27 And I will put my Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you shall heed My ordinances and do them.
My conscience is now clear, and my guilt has been removed, there is no barrier between God and me, as I believe and not my feelings, but believing, I will have no more evil conscience towards God.
If we feel guilty it will make us shy away from going to God, we must enter the Holy Place to God as means of the Blood knowing he has payed the penalty, we come to him as the finished work on the cross, never because we have been extra good that day, never because I have been extra kind, or I have read my bible extra that day, I come by the blood because of what he has done, not what I have done and how good I have been.
A clear conscience is never based on our attainment, sometimes if we feel we have done something wrong, maybe fallen out with a family member, or had a bad day, we feel er cannot come to God this is all based on our own efforts, do we come to God on the basis of feeling I have that I achieved something today, this is all about feelings.
God looks on the blood of Jesus and is satisfied with us because we have accepted the blood, as you come to God it must be for how good you have been, it is not a religion but a faith, and continual access to God because of the blood. Hebrews 10-19-22.
Our initial approach to God is by the Blood not my efforts, I am sprinkled from an evil conscience because I have accepted his Son Jesus and he looks at us through the blood of his Son, on the Cross he said it is FINISHED!
WE MAY BE WEAK, BUT LOOKING AT OUR WEAKNESS WILL NEVER MAKE US STRONG. TRYING TO FEEL BAD AND DOING PENANCE WILL US TO FEEL A LITTLE HOLIER. THERE IS NO HELP THERE.
When we accept the blood and the forgiveness it has for us, we can stand before God with a clear conscience, it gives us boldness.
OVERCOMING THE ACCUSER OF THE BRETHREN
How does the Blood operate against Satan? It does by putting God on the side of man and woman meaning mankind, because of sin which is in us until it is removed God cannot defend us, the blood removes that barrier and restores God to man
God is in the light as we walk with him, Man is now in favour with him as we believe this and walk in our freedom, we can now face Satan with no fear, God can see it yet the blood is able to cover cleanse it.
In our weakness at times some of us may have felt our Sin so bad that it cannot be cleansed or forgiven.
The blood of Jesus cleanses us form every sin, our conscience is clear all because of what Jesus has done.
Hebrews 9-14 How much more shall the blood of Christ cleanse our conscience,
SATAN’S GREATEST WEAPON
Satan accuses us in our own conscience not only before God but;
“Accusing us saying you have sinned you keep sinning, you are weak, God can have nothing to do with you, always accusing us, so we live in shame, and guilt and draw back, our temptation can be to look within and in our self-defence try to find it in ourselves, in our feelings, in our behaviour, maybe looking for some ground that Satan is wrong and we are righteous in ourselves.
Alternatively we are tempted to to admit our helplessness, and going to the extreme of depression and despair
This accusation then becomes one of Satan’s greatest and most effective weapons, he points out our sins and seeks to charge us with them before God, if we accept his accusations we go down immediately into hopelessness and despair.
THE REASON WE ARE SO READILY ACCEPTING HIS ACCUSATIONS IS THAT WE ARE HOPING WE MAY HAVE SOME RIGHTEOUSNESS OF OUR OWN, THIS IS WRONG EXPECTATIONS, IF WE DO THIS SATAN HAS SUCCEDED IS MAKING US LOOK IN THE WRONG DIRECTION, LOOKING AT OURSELVES. We are to put no confidence in the flesh.
GOD IS WELL ABLE TO DEAL WITH OUR SINS
BUT HE CANNOT DEAL WITH A MAN UNDER ACCUSATION
The blood speaks in our favour, but instead if we are listening to Satan, we are unworthy of anything but death to ourselves, not physically but by believing that we have righteousness in ourselves, it is the blood that gives us righteousness
Never should we try to answer Satan with our good conduct, but with the Blood of Jesus, yes we are sinful but praising God the blood cleanses us from every sin.
If you find yourself feeling sinful, shameful, and under guilt, repent turn to Jesus accept the forgiveness and life that is in the blood, and remember we are not to believe it’s by us being good that we can be accepted and forgiven but by accepting Jesus and the blood he shed on the Cross.
